I have been unhappy with the indoor photos that I have been taking for this blog with my Elph. I’ve decided that in order to take my blogs up a notch and add some quality product photos to my store, I need a DSLR. So with some Christmas money and Gift Cards, I bought the Canon EOS Rebel T3. I have had some photography classes in the past but have forgotten much of what I learned. I also didn’t have a DSLR at the time, so it was hard to apply everything I was learning to my point-and-shoot.
Now, I’m re-teaching myself everything. I’ve been readingĀ David Busch’s Canon EOS Rebel T3/1100D Guide to Digital SLR Photography. It’s been very helpful and I love that it’s specific to my camera. If you are learning photography, here’s just a few of the great articles and tutorials I found during my hours of scouring the internet:
- 21 Settings, Techniques and Rules All New Camera Owners Should Know at Digital Photography School
- Better Lenses for Less Money: How To Use Vintage Lenses with Your DSLR at Photojojo
- Product Photography at Making it Lovely
- Understanding Camera Lens Terminology on your Digital Camera at The Graphic Mac
- The SLR Camera Simulator at CameraSim via How About Orange
- Five Important Tips for Photographing Your Home at Making it Lovely
- What the Heck is an Aperture? at The Pioneer Woman
I also have a Photography Board on Pinterest where I’m collecting information. There’s so much info it’s a little hard not to be overwhelmed. Do you have a DSLR? What tips do you have?
