Friday morning we actually had temperatures in the upper 60’s so after walking the dogs, I got outside to work on a small painting project. I did it just in time too, just minutes after coming inside my neighbors lawn service showed up to mow the dirt. There’s very little grass and all they really do is stir up dust. Fortunately, I had done my project on a small board and was able to run outside and bring it in before they got started.
I love Jonathan Adler. I especially like all his ceramic animals. Thanks to my sister, Amanda, I have these great Dachshund Bookends. When I saw a giraffe at the thrift store, I envisioned something similar to Adler’s and had to bring him home with me.

Here’s Jerome before:
I think he once had ears that had broken off. Since I had some wood filler out for my shipping station project, I filled the holes with that. Then I sanded them down really good. I did several coats of white lacquer spray paint with some sanding in between.
Here’s what he looks like now:
Not Jonathan Adler, but not so bad, if I do say so myself.
