I’ve mentioned before that I would like to update my living room. I’m currently on a pretty tight budget, so anything I do will have to cost next to nothing. The first thing I plan to do is pull the original living room curtains out of the attic and re-hang them. They are turquoise which I am loving right now. The previous homeowners left all the curtains behind. She was a decorator so they are all very nice. At the time I bought my house I used them for awhile but they bugged me because they are incredibly long and puddle on the ground. I am going to begin by raising the curtain rods a little and see how that works. If that doesn’t solve the problem, I may have to hem them.
The second thing I would like to do is replace my coffee table. My current table is a round wood table that my mother was not using, but with their plans to move I hope she can use it in her new home. I would like to get something with a fun iron base and paint it gold. I love this table:

My main goal is to lighten it up a bit. It’s starting to feel a little dark and drab to me. I have been working some on the entry project but have decided that I don’t have the tools needed to complete one of my projects, so it may have to wait until my next trip to visit my parents. In the mean time, I think I’ll re-hand the old curtains, look into something fun for the stairs, and work on some pillows for the sofa.
