How was your weekend? Mine was pretty quiet.
Reading…Notes from a Blue Bike. I’m always on the lookout for inspiration to simplify. I have found some great inspiration in Tsh’s podcast, so I was excited to read her book. Not only is there inspiration for simplifying, but she also talks a lot about travel and living abroad.
Eating… Moroccan Food. A friend and I tried out a nearby Moroccan restaurant last week. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, which made me hesitant to try it; then I heard good things from neighbors and on Urbanspoon so we decided to give it a go. We were not impressed. I visited Morocco about 16 years ago and did not have anything similar to the lamb we were served at the restaurant. I couldn’t get past the spices used on the lamb. My friend thought it was probably allspice and coriander; I think he was correct.
Loving… Merona Ultimate Scoop T-Shirt. I have been on the lookout for a couple of solid t-shirts. I loved the fabric of the ones I had from Old Navy but did not like how they fit. One day while I was at Target, I discovered these tees. The scoop neck makes them look a tad bit dressier and they fit perfectly. I’m ready for 30 for 30 to be over with so I can actually wear them.
Listening to… Bradley Joseph‘s arrangement of Fur Elise. I recently added a Yo-Yo Ma station to Pandora. My ears perked up when it played this rendition of Fur Elise. It’s long been one of my favorite pieces to play on the piano. I may have to see if I can find the sheet music to change things up a bit.
Watching…The Grand Budapest Hotel. I’m a huge Wes Anderson fan. I had a movie credit at M-Go and was planning to watch either The Monuments Men or The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. When I saw this one available I quickly changed my mind. It didn’t surpass Moonrise Kingdom as my favorite Wes Anderson film, but I liked it a lot.
What have you been up to lately?
