Did you have a nice weekend? I did not get to my Craigslist selling but I did manage to accomplish a few other things.
Reading… Tell the Wolves I’m Home. I’ve managed to dive into several really good books over the last few weeks. This was no exception. It’s another one with a sad subject matter that I didn’t find overly depressing.
Wanting…this alternative to Chiang Mai Dragon fabric (thanks Copycat Chic). I’ve been wanting some Chiang Mai pillows for years. I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on fabric. This Dwell fabric is a great alternative. I really love the darker colorway. I think it would look great with my navyish walls and turquoise bedspread.
Watching…The Fault in our Stars. It’s probably been a year since I read the book, but from what I remember, this was a really good adaptation. There wasn’t anything that stood out to me as being off from the book. Take some tissues with you if you go see it.
Making… crocheted baby blanket. I have a new baby (great) niece. It’s got me back into crocheting. I’m not sure why I quit for so long but I’m enjoying doing it again. It’s a lot like calligraphy; it can be very meditative and therapeutic, plu you end up with something to show for your daily meditation time.
Loving… Philips Compact Fluorescent Dusk-to-Dawn Light Bulb. I’ve made several feeble attempts to automate my porch light. The photocell adapters never work well. I had a photocell CFL bulb a few years ago that worked pretty well but when it burned out I couldn’t find another one that worked, until this one. It’s such a small thing but it makes life so much easier. The porch light comes on when it gets dark and goes off when it’s light again. Perfect.
What have you been up to lately?
