Watching…Scandal. There are some series that it would be best for me to watch as the networks dole out one episode a week, because I apparently don’t have the self-control to watch in moderation. Scandal is one of those series. I spent the last week and a half binge-watching the show. It reminds me a bit of 24; while it’s more about political scandal than 24 was, it provides a similar perspective on what it must be like to be President. It’s a fun, fast-paced political thriller.
Loving… old commercials. I saw 9 to 5 at the Poteet Theatre this weekend. The show was great, but one of my favorite parts was the old commercials from 1976 (the year 9 to 5 was released) they played before the show and during intermission. It was a lot of fun to see how advertising has changed and remember products that I had completely forgotten existed.
Wanting… Ikea Ritva Curtains. I have been pondering some changes to my bedroom. I really need new curtains; I’ve settled on these curtains from Ikea. I was excited that they are available to order online, but not excited when I found out that it would cost more than $20 to ship them! I think a trip to Ikea may be in order.
Reading… Life After Life. My compulsive TV watching has kept me from reading as much as I would like. I did manage to start Life After Life. It’s the story of Ursala Todd and her multiple lives, a bit like Sliding Doors.
Planning…a trip to Bartlesville. While I would love to go somewhere a bit more exotic, I’ve always wanted to see the Price Tower, Frank Lloyd Wright’s only skyscraper. I think a trip to Bartlesville will make a nice little get-away.
