Watching…
My Life is Murder. This Australian mystery procedural is becoming a fast favorite. It stars Lucy Lawless and is in a similar vein as Castle and Instinct. Like those shows, it’s character-driven, with each episode revealing a bit more about the three main cast members. I’m also loving the setting of Melbourne, along with the aesthetic of the sets and wardrobes. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the main character is named Alexa – so my Echo is frequently activated while I’m watching.
Reading…
The Wives. This was definitely not the best book I’ve ever read, but it was a quick read – perfect for summer & pandemic-brain. There is a question as to the reliability of the narrator throughout the book, so if those kinds of books bother you, you might give this one a miss.
Listening to…
Gregory Alan Isakov. I am a huge Isakov fan and have found myself listening to him a lot lately. He’s been the soundtrack to many trips, including a trip to see him live at Red Rocks. As I listen, I find myself simultaneously feeling like I’m traveling and being sad that I’m not traveling (and don’t know when I will again).
Eating…
Primal Kitchen Mint Chip Protein Bar. I have a weakness for anything mint chocolate. When I saw these by the checkout at Natural Grocers, I decided to pick one up to try. They are relatively healthy, i.e. Paleo friendly, and delicious. Due to the expense and my avoidance of sweets, they probably will never become a regular occurrence in my diet. But, they are perfect for a semi-healthy occasional treat. Since Costco carries some Primal Kitchen products, I hope that maybe they will someday offer them.
Wearing…
Lou & Grey Signature Softblend Sweatpants. When the lockdown began, I realized that I would be spending a lot of time at home and wanted something that I could wear that would be comfy but also look nicer than my regular athleisure. I bought a couple of pairs of these pants and absolutely love them. In fact, I may use my birthday gift from Loft to get another pair.
