Watching… Web Therapy. I stumbled across this one while looking for something to watch on Hulu while I was on my lunch break. It’s very dry humor, which I love. The episodes are only about five minutes each, making it a perfect show to watch when you just need a little break.
Listening to… A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. I read this book for the first time a few years ago; I think I’ve referred to it a few times here. It’s a nonfiction book about Donald Miller’s quest to live a better story. He begins when he joins forces with a couple of other guys to adapt his memoir into a screenplay. As he learns the elements that make a better story on screen, he determines he’s going to live a better story off screen. I highly recommend it. In fact, I’ve decided it’s one I will try to read/listen to once a year.
Loving… Bells of Paradise Wind Chimes. My mother bought these chimes for me for my birthday and I love them. I tried them in a few different places but they’ve found their home on the front porch. The porch is really beginning to look a lot more homey.
Reading… Breakthrough Rapid Reading. After reading this post on Lifehacker (which is really more about taking notes than reading a lot of books), I did a little more research and came across a recommendation for this book on speed reading. Many of the people that completed the process manage to read several books in a week’s time. I would love to be able to do that. I’m only a chapter or two into it, but I will let you know if it makes a difference.
Wanting… Yellow Ikat Fabric. I would like to make some pillows for my front porch swing using yellow ikat fabric. Do you ever know exactly what you want in your mind but you can’t find it? I love this fabric by Patty Sloniger available at Spoonflower but it’s more that I want to spend; the least expensive fabric at Spoonflower is $17/yard. While $17 for a couple of pillows isn’t bad, I would like to find something that’s more in the $7/yard range.
