Watching…
Cheer. I kept hearing about this Netflix documentary about a competitive Cheer squad from Texas. I decided to check it out this weekend. I’m probably the exact opposite of someone that would be a cheerleader so it was kind of like watching a documentary about wild animals or something. It was a little stressful and sad. So many of those kids have had to overcome some pretty serious problems.
Reading…
The Family Next Door. I’m not very far into this one, but so far, it reminds me of Never Have I Ever. Like Never Have I Ever, it’s the story of a neighborhood after a mysterious new neighbor arrives. It feels like it could be pretty predictable. I hope that I am wrong about that.
Listening to…
Aesthetic Intelligence. Parts of this book can come off as a bit snooty, but overall I’ve enjoyed it. I think it has been instrumental in the work I’ve done to make my studio a space prime for creativity. I hope that the things I’ve learned can also carry over into my design work and developing my brand.
Visiting…
The Philbrook. I have been wanting to see the Shadow of Time exhibit and made it just in time. There were much fewer pieces than I expected. My favorite piece is the butterfly collage outside the exhibition hall; I wish I’d made note of the name and artist. I took a close-up photo that makes for a fun wallpaper on my phone.
Wanting…
a Two-Cube Organizer. The studio is almost finished. One of the finishing touches is going to be replacing the side table that I’m using as a bookcase. I want to lay one of these organizers on its side and put some fun MCM legs on it. I think it will fit the space under the window and provide the storage I need for my design books.
