I did not intend to take such so much time off. I plan to do better this year!
Watching…
Living with Yourself. My TV watching lately has relied heavily on Netflix. This isn’t the most recent show I watched, but it is definitely the best I’ve watched in the last month (not including a recent Frasier binge). It’s a dark comedy that’s similar in tone to Dead to Me. I love a show that just takes me for an unpredictable ride; this is one of those shows.
Reading…
City of Girls. I’m a little behind the curve on this one. This book was everywhere in 2019 and I’m just now getting around to reading it. It’s a light book, perfect for this dreary time of year. I’m about a quarter of the way in and have been enjoying it.
Listening to…
How to! Podcast. I’m not sure how I learned about this podcast, but when I saw that there was an episode devoted to sleep, I immediately downloaded it. In each episode, a guest poses a question to Charles Duhigg about how to do something. He then dives into the topic and consults experts to help the guest accomplish their goal. I’ve done a lot of sleep research and was pleased to see that this episode went about finding a good night’s sleep using a different method than usually recommended – meditation. As someone that’s curious about a variety of topics, I will definitely be listening to more.
Using…
Hot Water Bottle. Today marks day ten of fighting a cold/sinus infection. The thing that’s giving me the most relief is my hot water bottle. I have a couple, but this one is by far my favorite. It’s perfect for when I’m sick or when I’m just cold and need something extra to keep me warm while I sleep.
Mourning…
Olive. One week ago today, I woke up to discover that Olive was gone; I guess her little heart finally gave out. I will miss her enthusiasm and joy for life. She was always running laps around the house. I have no idea how old she was; I’d had her ten years. When I adopted her, the rescue thought she was around two but my vet guessed she was ten. She’d had heartworms and had apparently been attacked by something because she was missing part of her ear and had scar tissue on her back. She was nervous but curious. She loved to explore and tell you all about everything. The house is a lot quieter without her. She will be missed.
