The Last Year of the War. I really enjoyed this book about a German internee during World War II. I was not aware that there were as many German internees as there were. This story really made me feel what it must have been like to be a U.S. Citizen both in fact and in heart, but to be treated as a traitor and ultimately “returned” to a country where you’ve never lived.

The Queens of Mystery. Acorn has really been pushing this series in their ads on Instagram and Facebook. With a week left on my subscription, I determined that I could make it through this short series. With the narration and the prominence of the main character’s aunts, it reminds me of Pushing Daisies.

30 for 30. The most recent episode of Criminal featured an episode from 30 for 30. I previously devoured their Bikram series and look forward to the latest season. You don’t have to be a sports fanatic to enjoy this podcast.
Chasing…
the sun. This is the time of the year where SAD is beating down my door and I just can’t get enough sun. This weekend, I decided to play furniture Tetris and move some pieces around so I can lounge by a south window. I don’t particularly love the new setup, but I think being able to sit in the sun will trump my dislike for the furniture arrangement.
