I did not intend to take such a big break from the blog. The last few weeks got away from me – I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep (mostly due to Charlotte’s storm anxiety and the neverending thunderstorms). In addition to that, there have been some changes at the law office and things have been really busy. Combine all of that with taking a little trip and not feeling my best, and it just wasn’t happening here. Hopefully, things will return to normal this week.
Watching…
Happy Valley. After finishing Last Tango in Halifax, I was looking for another British show. Happy Valley was recommended by Netflix, probably because there is an actress that is in both. I’d tried to watch this show in the past and couldn’t get over James Norton playing a really bad guy. I was able to get into it this time. It’s pretty dark and there were a few times I wished I hadn’t watched it right before bed. I’m looking forward to watching the third season whenever it’s finally released.
Reading…
The Scholar. I was excited to read this follow up to The Ruin. I had a little trouble getting into this one and partially saw the twist coming. I enjoyed it enough that I will read the next book in the series, but I’m glad I got this from the library and didn’t buy it.
Visiting…
Santa Fe & Colorado Springs. I took a short trip with my mom and sister to Santa Fe and Colorado Springs for an early celebration of mom’s birthday. I would have like to have explored Santa Fe a bit more. My favorite thing was the Alexander Girard Exhibit at the International Folk Art Museum.
Eating…
Mexican Food. My healthy eating kind of went out the window the last couple of weeks. I’m feeling it now but it sure was yummy while I was partaking. Mexican food is my favorite so I was glad to eat some yummy food in Santa Fe. We ate at Cafe Pasqual’s. It was delicious!
Wanting…
Graphic tees. I’m working on re-working my wardrobe a bit. The dresses that have been a staple the last few years don’t fit like they used to. I was thinking about getting a jumpsuit but have decided to get some wide leg pants and a top or two that I can wear with the pants for a jumpsuit look. I got a fun t-shirt at Meow Wolfe and think I want to get one or two more graphic tees that I can wear with my pants and jeans. I’m thinking about Bowie, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, and Mr. Rogers.
