Reading… Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics. I have gone back and forth with wanting to get into meditating. My focus on cutting back on my smartphone use has reawakened the interest. In my effort, I’ve been doing a 30 Day Meditation Workshop through Camp Calm and have also been reading this book. I highly recommend both Camp Calm and Harris’s work (books and podcast) to anyone interested in beginning meditation. Cain and Harris both have an informal style that’s highly accessible.
Watching… Russian Doll. When Sherry and John talked about this series on YHL Has a Podcast, I added it to my watch list. It’s like the TV Version of Groundhog Day, except darker and with a female lead. There are only eight episodes and each are around 30 minutes, so I should be able to easily make it through the series before my Netflix subscription ends. It’s pretty dark and definitely not for kids.
Listening to… 30 for 30: Bikram. This podcast has been mentioned multiple times on Armchair Expert. So when I finished my last true crime series, I thought it would be a good one to fill the gap. It’s disturbing but not really all that shocking. I think I have one more episode left. I’m disappointed in the conclusion, but I guess that’s real life.
Loving… True Hemp Supplement Chews. I think we’ve officially hit storm season in Oklahoma. Charlotte is deathly afraid of thunderstorms and I’ve had to do a lot of experimenting to find something that works to ease her angst. These chews (and the hemp and theanine that’s in them) work the best of anything I’ve tried. If I am aware that storms are on the horizon, when I feed her I will put the contents of an theanine capsule and some of this hemp oil on her food. Unfortunately, Oklahoma weather is not usually that predictable. If I haven’t been able to anticipate bad weather, at the first hint of storms I will give her some of these chews. The theanine and hemp don’t knock her out, they just keep her calm (relatively).
Wanting… Gladiator Sandals. I used to have a pair of sandals that were very similar to these. I wore them out and finally retired them. To replace them, I purchased a different style of camel colored sandals. Unfortunately, they are not as comfortable and I don’t really like how they look on my feet, consequently I don’t wear them. I was excited to find these Sam Edelman sandals. I am hopeful they could be a staple of my spring & summer wardrobe.
