I’m sorry for the silence these last couple of weeks. I had hoped to write some posts in advance of my vacation, but that didn’t happen. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw some pics from my trip to Kauai. It was amazing! I’m planning to share some more details later this week.
Reading… Boomtown. This book has been on my “to read” list for awhile. I was excited when my hold from the library came through right before I left on my trip. I had some trouble sleeping while I was gone, and listening to this audiobook filled those hours with entertainment. If you are from Oklahoma, this includes some history you are undoubtedly familiar with, but it also includes a few things I did not know about. There is quite a bit of basketball talk, so if you do not care about the Thunder or basketball in general, you may not enjoy this one.
Watching… Killing Eve. With the exception of watching three episodes of Killing Eve on the flight to Hawaii and watching part one of my Semester at Sea video, I did not watch any TV while I was gone last week. As someone who watches a decent amount of television, I was surprised by the fact that I didn’t miss it at all. Killing Eve was ok – it was entertaining, but there were quite a few plot holes that bothered me. After reading the reviews, it looks like the things that bothered me in the first few episodes, only get worse. So I may or may not finish it.
Drinking… Kauai Coffee. As a serious coffee lover, I was excited to get to visit the Kauai Coffee Estate last week. I could not leave without picking up some coffee to bring home. After taste testing several varieties, I ended up with the Typica Medium Roast and the Polihale Sunset. It’s pretty good but I like my JSL better (and it’s not as expensive).
Using… my Levoit Humidifier. Returning to cold dry weather has been wreaking havoc on my skin and sinuses. Constant use of my humidifier has helped keep things in check. I am a big fan of this humidifier in particular. One tank is enough water to run for approximately 24 hours (on low – I’m not sure how some of the reviewers are getting more time out of it). I fill it up before bed and let it run until the next night. It’s quieter than any humidifier I’ve ever had. I’ve been using it steadily for the last two months and don’t have any complaints. It even has a little filter that you can soak with essential oil.
Wanting… a new iPhone. I dropped my phone last week and somehow managed to badly crack the screen underneath the screen protector. I contemplated getting a new phone before my trip and wish I had. With the cracked screen, my trade-in value has dropped dramatically and the new phones are supposed to be a lot more durable (so hopefully it won’t be as likely to crack).
What have you been up to lately?
