Reading… Night of Miracles. I flew through this sequel to The Story of Arthur Truluv. I loved both of these books. I did not realize that Elizabeth Berg had written so many books. I will have to check out her other work. These books are set in a small town in Missouri and have a feel-good nature that reminded me of the Mitford series.
Watching… The Innocent Man. I devoured Making a Murderer, so I was interested in checking out this docuseries – especially since the murders took place in Ada, Oklahoma. I would have been pretty young when this happened and don’t have any memory of it. I also don’t remember the Grisham book. I have heard that the book was not very kind towards Oklahoma; I’ve watched two episodes and so far don’t think we look too bad.
Listening to… 99% Invisible: The Accidental Room. If you know me very well, you probably know that I have a fascination with secret rooms. I often dream about discovering a room in my home or office that I did not know existed. I almost started clapping when I realized the topic of this episode. A man notices, as it is being constructed, that the Providence Place Mall has a void in the center. When he and his group of friends are displace by developers, they decide to move into that space. They created an apartment inside and lived there off and on for four years!
Riding… the Oklahoma City Streetcar. This was opening weekend for the Streetcar. I volunteered at at the Arena Platform for a few hours on Sunday. It was so cold; it wouldn’t have been bad but I was in the shade and between the lack of sun and the wind it wasn’t very warm. There also weren’t a lot of people getting off or on at the stop but the cars were pretty full as they went buy and a singing group performed at the stop for about an hour so at least there was entertainment. I rode the car back to my car and it was standing room only. I’m hoping to do a loop next weekend.
Loving… Fintie Kindle Cover. After five years, the skin on my Kindle was beginning to show some wear (I’ve been carrying it a lot in my purse lately). In the hopes that the magnetic cover would automatically awaken the device upon opening, I decided to change things up. I love this thing! The cover folds all the way back and it does wake my Kindle, so I don’t have to swipe and wait for it to go to my book. I think it’s going to be more durable and will also protect the screen which the skin did not do.
