Reading… Priestdaddy. I’ve been on a real memoir kick lately. This one is very different; it’s the story of a poet whose father is a Catholic priest. Parts are laugh-out-loud funny and parts are pretty dark & sad. It was a slow read (took me about a month to make it through). It’s basically a collection of essays – there’s nothing propelling the story forward and the language is pretty flowery and poetic. I enjoyed it but it’s definitely not for everyone.
Watching… Rosehaven. I happened upon this show when searching Amazon for Australian TV Shows. I’m a fan. It’s a quirky show set in a small town called Rosehaven in Tasmania. It’s similar to Parks & Rec and The Office. I’m looking forward to Season 3.
Listening to… Imagined Life. I’ve been binge listening this podcast. Each episode is a story presented by an actor portraying someone famous, but you don’t know who it is until the end. They drop clues here and there. It’s a fun guessing game. I enjoy the female episodes with Virginia Madsen more than the male episodes. The Bride was the easiest to guess. There were a few that I didn’t figure out until the very end; so far I’ve figured out all of them before the big reveal.
Loving… Eddie Bauer Ignitelite Reversible Jacket. I’ve been wanting a new casual coat. I have an old puffy coat that was made before they perfected the technology and made them a lot thinner. I wanted a Patagonia but couldn’t justify spending the money. My old coat was an Eddie Bauer and when I saw this one on sale I decided to give it a try. It’s really thin and can even be stuffed into one of the pockets. I’m not sure that it’s as warm as my old coat but it’s surprisingly warm and I can wear layers underneath.
Wanting… a Yoga Blanket. My yoga streak is at day 36. I didn’t know yoga blankets were a thing until I started doing this series. It’s used as a bolster or to provide extra padding. I’ve been using a ratty beach towel but would love to upgrade to one of these.
