Watching… Being Erica. I was looking for a British/Australian show on Amazon Prime and came across this Canadian show. Erica is in her 30’s and in one day, loses her job, gets dumped by the guy she’s been seeing, and goes into anaphylactic shock. A counselor approaches her about helping her get her life together; after their first session she discovers that there’s something very different about his approach. She finds herself going back in time to correct mistakes that she’s made. It’s a pretty cute show. It’s probably a little more appealing to me because she is roughly the same age as me, so the high school fashions & lingo are very familiar.
Reading… Nine Perfect Strangers. I was excited to dive into the latest book by Liane Moriarty. I’m about halfway into it and am enjoying it. There are a lot of characters to keep up with but I think I’ve finally got them all sorted out. There is usually a bit of a mystery in each of her books and I’m excited to see how this one unfolds.
Listening to… the Uncover Podcast. This was recommended as a podcast for people that enjoyed Dirty John (which I devoured and am really excited about the upcoming TV show). The first season of Uncover is about the NXIVM cult. It sounds very similar to Scientology. I heard a little about NXIVM when Keith Raniere and Allison Mack were arrested. I did not know the details or that Grace Park was also involved with the group. This is a fascinating podcast but has enough of an ick factor that I can only listen to a couple of episodes at a time.
Eating… Salmon Salad on Cucumber Noodles. I have been pretty lazy when it comes to cooking meals lately. I made a batch of salmon salad, using a tuna salad recipe from the 21 Day Sugar Detox Cookbook. It’s pretty yummy – good enough that I had it two meals in a row. My favorite way to serve it is on a bed of cucumber noodles. Yum!
Loving… Ice Roller. I had a TMJ flareup over the weekend. Thankfully I had this ice roller in the freezer. This thing is amazing. It’s much smaller than any icepack I have so it’s a lot easier to focus on the area that’s bothering me. The rolling motion helps alleviate the pain as well. It also stays cold for longer than any of my ice packs. I wish I’d had this when I had my tooth pulled.
