Watching… The Romanoffs. I am taking a break from Acorn and decided to start an Amazon series. I’ve watched one episode so far; it was okay. It was set in Paris and was subtitled through most of the episode. I was working on some mending and was a little annoyed that I couldn’t watch and sew at the same time (alas my French was not good enough to keep up without reading the subtitles). It seems that each episode is completely different people that believe they are descended from the Romanovs.
Reading… Atomic Habits. I flew through this book. It is the best book on habits that I’ve read. I finished it inspired to get going. If you are looking to make some changes, I recommend this book. He provides lots of tips for finding the best way to implement new habits.
Doing… Yoga. One of my new habits is to complete a Yoga session everyday. I’m six days into the Do You Yoga 30 Day Challenge. Each session is around 10 minutes – perfect for making it happen everyday. I’m pleasantly surprised how much a 10 minute session impacts my day and my fitness level.
Using… Don’t Break the Chain App. One of the recommendations for forming new habits is to track them. A lot of people do this on paper but I prefer to use my phone. It’s almost always with me and I don’t have to worry about keeping up with a piece of paper. The free version of the app lets you track one thing (it’s just the visual of a calendar with X’s for the days you mark). I opted to get the paid version so I can track all my new habits.
Loving… packing cubes. I was beginning to get a little nervous that I was planning to take too much on my trip to Hawaii in January so I did a trial pack and was able to fit all my clothes into my large cube. I’m a big fan of packing cubes, they make the packing and unpacking process so much easier. You can sort different types of things into different cubes. The bright colored ones help keep you from leaving something behind.
