How was your weekend. Mine was stormy and included a few hours without electricity. Thankfully the temperature was moderate so other than being inconvenient it wasn’t too bad.
Watching… 800 Words. I have been devouring series on Acorn (British series are generally a lot shorter than American series). This Australian show is the latest in my lineup. I’m four episodes in, so far I find it charming if not a bit formulaic – what you would expect of a show set in a small town. The New Zealand setting is enough to keep me coming back.
Reading… How to Walk Away. I flew through this book. Margaret is a recent college graduate with her future mapped out. When her planned life is derailed she has to find a new way. It’s more chick-lit than I usually go for but I enjoyed it and will be checking out this author’s other books.
Drinking… GT Summer Edition Unity Kombucha. I’m always hesitant to try the special edition Kombucha. The flavors can be hit or miss for me – usually a little too sweet. This one is Cherry, Coconut, and Lemongrass. I’m a fan. I think I will be consuming lots of this while it’s still around.
Loving… Thermacell Mosquito Repeller. This is a game changer. I was skeptical, but after a friend raved about how well hers worked, I decided to give it a try. I am impressed. The mosquitos have been horrible this summer. It may not get rid of all of them but it helps so much.
Using… Theanine. My lab, Charlotte, is deathly afraid of thunderstorms. Unfortunately, it stormed most of the weekend. After hearing that some people have had luck with Composure, I checked it out. I wasn’t thrilled with all the ingredients but determined that Theanine was one of the key ingredients. I had previously bought some to help me sleep, so after doing a little research I decided to give her some to see if it helped. I add some to her food before a storm. It definitely helps; the only problem is that timing it very difficult. That’s where the treat might work better – although I’m not sure if she would take a treat in the throes of fear.
