I’m back! I did not intend to take such a long break. I had a tooth abscess which had me feeling really crummy. Then I had the tooth pulled and was on antibiotics for 10 days (which also made me feel crummy). Recovering from having a tooth pulled is not as easy as I remember it being as a kid. I’m not sure if it’s age or the fact that I had a bone graft with this extraction; I think I’m finally recovering. Daisy is still plugging along too. She has good days and bad, but for now the good outweigh the bad. So we’ll just keep on keeping on.
Watching… Grace & Frankie. I’m embarrassed to say that I watched the entire 4th season over the weekend. There were a few moments that had me laughing out loud, but I don’t think it was quite as good this season. Frankie’s character walks a fine line with me. If she steps too far over the line I find her more annoying than entertaining.
Listening to… Art Curious Podcast. I’ve really been enjoying this new-to-me podcast. The first two episodes were fascinating. Did you know that Picasso was a suspect in the 1911 robbery of the Mona Lisa? Or that Van Gogh may have been murdered? This podcast is kind of like Dateline for the art world. Love it!
Reading… The Nature Fix. Sarah mentioned how much she enjoyed this book on the Happier in Hollywood podcast. I’m always looking for a nature fix, especially this time of year, so I immediately downloaded it from the library. I’m really enjoying this. The author explores various studies on what constitutes natures, why it makes us happy, and how to get more of it. I’ve come away with few ideas for getting my fix.
Eating… a crap-ton of vegetables. A combination of the new year and recovering from the tooth extraction has led me back to focussing on veggies. I always feel better when I overdose on them, so that’s what I’m trying to do. I think Leo’s philosophy is a sold one; you can’t go wrong with a crap-ton of vegetables.
Loving… JarJackets. My morning breakfast is almost always a smoothie. It’s an easy way to squeeze in some more veggies. In addition to working towards getting away from plastic, my old plastic smoothie cups were pretty much shot. I opted for these jackets along with mason jars as replacements. These seem a little pricey considering they don’t include the jars or lids, but I suspect that I will have them for years to come and they will be well worth the money spent.
