Last week was kind of crazy. Between not feeling very good and hosting Thanksgiving, my plate was pretty full. I was incredibly lazy over the weekend and finally feel my motivation returning.
Reading… Something in Between. My reading slowed down a lot last week; I only made it through one book and it was an audiobook. This is the story of a teenage girl that is on track to graduate from high school with honors and go to practically any college she chooses. She’s living the dream, until she finds out that she is undocumented and not in the country legally. This book is very similar to The Sun is Also a Star. I enjoyed it.
Watching… Younger. I’m on the lookout for something to watch while my regularly scheduled programming is on winter break. I loved Sutton Foster in Bun Heads so when I heard about this show, I thought it might fill the void. Foster plays a 41 year old woman who’s life is falling apart. She decides to return to the career that she put on hold to raise her daughter, and finds that nobody wants to hire a woman her age. After her friend convinces her she looks much younger than she is, she begins posing as a 26 year old and lands a job. I’ve watched one episode and I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to watch it. I’m not very good with watching shows that are uncomfortable and this one has uncomfortable written all over it.
Listening to… Green Day Radio on Pandora. I alternate between a few Pandora stations. Green Day has been in heavy rotation for the last week or so.
Eating… Turkey & Oyster Dressing. The problem with hosting Thanksgiving is that I always end up with more leftovers than I otherwise would. While I love turkey and dressing it doesn’t really fit in with my regular low carb diet. Thankfully I finished off the last of it yesterday so I can return to healthier eating.
Loving… my Instant Pot. Speaking of healthier eating, I’ve been giving my Instant Pot a good workout. In addition to my regular hard boiled egg and whole chicken cooking, I made some hot cider and a soup. It was the first time I’d used the soup function. It’s pretty cool being able to cook a soup from scratch in 30 minutes. I will definitely be using more of that feature this winter.
