I’m sorry that I wasn’t around much last week. I’m afraid this week probably won’t be much better. I’ve been in a prepping-for-Thanksgiving frenzy.
Reading… I am Watching You & Young Jane Young. I managed to make it through two books again last week! I guess it’s easy to read lots of books if they are short. I am Watching You was a mystery that kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed it but was happy to go on to a different kind of book with Young Jane Young. I really enjoyed it up until the end. Each section was from a different character’s perspective. The last section went back in time and added a bunch of details that I didn’t really feel like were necessary. I felt like the present day storyline was ended too abruptly.
Watching… The Goonies at The Tower Theatre. Goonies was one of my favorites as a kid. I remember watching it on HBO over and over. I was excited to get to see it on the big screen at The Tower Theatre. They seem to have quite a few older movies on the schedule. I would love to go see Planes, Trains, & Automobiles.
Listening to… 99% Invisible. 99% Invisible is one of the podcasts that I listen to each week without fail. Last week’s episode on graphic design in movies and television was one of my favorites so far. It was fascinating learning about everything that goes into designing for film. And I loved that a big chunk of the episode involved one of my favorite movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel. It would be so much fun to design for the movies and TV.
