Watching… Community. I’ve really come to rely on funny TV shows to add to my happiness during this rather depressing time in the world. I was so sad when I discovered The Good Place wasn’t coming back until January and decided I needed to find something to watch while everything goes on winter break. I opted for an old favorite, Community. I’m doing a free trial through Hulu. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a Hulu subscription. I’m pretty impressed by the programming available.
Reading…The Things We Wish Were True and The President’s Hat. I’ve been on a reading roll lately. Both of these books were relatively short and I flew through them. The Things We Wish Were True is one of those books where each chapter alternates between the perspective of one of the characters. I enjoyed watching the story unfold. In The President’s Hat, François Mitterand’s hat is left behind in a restaurant; the hat seems to have transformative powers for each person that comes to possess it. I especially enjoyed the story of the perfumer. I will definitely check out other books by both of these authors.
Listening to… Every Little Thing. I love podcasts that tell fascinating stories about topics I never considered before. Many of the episodes of this show seek to answer questions posed by listeners, like: “Why haven’t I ever seen a living armadillo?” or “What does the number on the pasta box mean?” I really enjoyed Six O’Clock Soundtrack, the story of news show theme songs. Episodes are usually around 30 minutes, making this a good starter-podcast for someone looking to dip their toe into the world of podcasts.
Using… Nutribiotic Nasal Spray and NAC. I mentioned Friday that my sinuses have been killing me. I haven’t really had a lot of congestion, just inflammation. I think I finally found a couple of things that are helping. I’m not back to normal yet, but I definitely feel like I’m headed in the right direction.
Wearing… Stripes. My wardrobe has been leaning French lately. I may have a slight striped sweater obsession. I have this sweater in two different colors and have considered buying the third option.
