Watching… Lion. I saw the previews for this when watching La La Land last week. So when I got a free movie code from RedBox this week, it was a no-brainer which movie to watch. As I suspected, it was a little depressing but not as much as it probably could have been. I am interested to learn how true-to-life the movie was.
Listening to… Designing Your Life. When I heard about the Designing Your Life course offered at Stanford, I was curious to check it out. The idea is that design principles can really help someone when making life decisions. I wish I’d had this course when I was in college.
Reading… All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. It’s been awhile since I’ve read any fiction. I reserved this book from the library several months ago (I think after hearing about it on What Should I Read Next?). It was automatically checked out to me and since it’s so popular, I decided I better read it while I had the chance. I’m about a quarter of the way in to it. I’m not sure how I feel. It’s beautifully written, but very disturbing. It’s the story of a young girl with a very rough home life and pretty much the only “good” thing going for her is an inappropriate relationship she has with a friend of her father’s.
Visiting… The Philbrook Museum. I’ve been wanting to see the Lusha Nelson exhibit and was running out of time to do so. I really enjoyed it. He was a talented photographer, it’s incredible that he had such little experience. You can see the complete catalog of the exhibit here.
Eating at… Andolini’s Pizzeria. While in Tulsa, I was excited to eat at Andolini’s again. Their pizza is amazing. The gluten free crust is the best I’ve ever had and they even have a really good vegan pizza (with no cheese for me). I wish they would expand to Oklahoma City.
