Watching… Brooklyn. I had heard good things about this movie but had never gotten around to watching it. My free trial with HBO was running out so I decided I needed to take advantage while I still had it. I really enjoyed this movie. I love movies (and books) where the location is almost a character. This was definitely one of those movies.
Reading… Tools of Titans. I’ve tried to get into Tim Ferriss’ podcast but it’s a little too long and rambly for me. When I read about this book, I thought it might be a good substitution. It boils down the tons of information on his podcast to the good stuff. It’s basically a book of life hacks. It’s divided into three sections: Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise and is not intended to be read from cover to cover, but used as a reference book. I checked out the Kindle book from the library but I’m thinking the content might be better in a physical book that’s easier to flip through.
Listening to… The Mad Fientist Podcast. As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been doing a lot of personal finance related research lately. I’ve been especially interested in all the stuff out there about Financial Independence; it’s inspiring to see all the people that have been able to “retire” at such a young age. Many of them are on a quest to be able to travel the world, something I would love to do.
Eating… Paleo Tacos. I have been on a real taco kick lately. I make homemade cassava flour tortillas nearly every day and this is the most logical way I eat them. Otherwise, I usually just eat them by themselves. I was never that much of a bread eater before giving up grains but I’ve become a bit of a tortilla addict since.
Wanting… Freya Denim Dress. My Boden catalog came this weekend. There’s so much cute stuff in it. Thankfully, a lot of it seems to no longer be available. I’m not in the market for a dress so I’m not going to buy this one but man I love it!
