How was your weekend? Mine was perfectly lovely. The weather cooperated most of the weekend; I got to checkout the Things exhibit (which strangely contained a lot of things I can find in my own house, but also contained some cool modern furniture); tried a couple of new restaurants; and had a delicious Easter dinner.
Watching… Grantchester. I’m excited! One of my favorite British mysteries is back. I love the dynamic between Sidney, the young vicar, and Geordie, a seasoned cop. Each week contains a new mystery but there’s also ongoing personal stories surrounding the main characters. I highly recommend this one.
Listening to… Kissed a Sad Goodbye. I’m blowing through the Duncan Kincaid/Gemma James series – pretty easy to do when you listen to audiobooks. I really like this series and have found that it’s not too predictable. Other series I’ve read seem to have a formula that they follow book after book, but this one seems to change up the style each book. There is always a personal storyline, in addition to the mystery, and sometimes those two storylines coincide.
Eating… Plantain Chips. I have heard plantain chips suggested as a Paleo snack for awhile but hadn’t been able to find them at Sprouts for awhile. I finally found a bag last week and fell in love. So much so that I bought four bags at Trader Joe’s (much cheaper in the store than the Amazon link). I may have to make a monthly trip to Tulsa to stock up until our store opens.
Loving… LaVanila Sports Luxe Deodorant. I swear I have tried a million different brands of natural deodorants. Some of them have worked okay but contain baking soda which always made me break out. Recently, I had been using magnesium oil which I think worked okay but wasn’t my favorite. When I saw Caroline rave about this on Cup of Jo, I decided to give one more natural deodorant a go. Finally, a winner!
Trying… Playstation Vue. I had pretty much given up on internet cable TV until a friend of mine mentioned Vue last week. I checked out what it had to offer and was interested enough to get a free trial. So far, I’m loving it. The service offers all the channels I want and even has a “DVR” service where you can watch episodes of your favorite shows after they air. Another perk is that you don’t have to commit to a long term plan so if you foresee a busy month ahead where you won’t be watching TV you can cancel the service and resume it again later.
