How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy. I got to visit the Quilts and Color Exhibit at the Art Museum. It was better than I expected. I was amazed with the color and patterns of these pretty old quilts (many of them dated back to the 1800’s). I’ll share some photos later this week.
Loving…The North Face Metropolis Mitt. If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you may remember that I have been on the hunt for a pair of gloves/mittens that actually keep my hands warm for probably a couple of years. I think I may have finally found them in these. I originally ordered a different pair from Zappos but they weren’t warm enough. Thank goodness for Zappos great return policy. I ended up getting these on super sale at Moosejaw.
Eating… at Guernsey Park. I’ve mentioned Guernsey Park before, but this was my first time to eat there since going gluten free. While looking for a place to eat brunch, I discovered that the restaurant had been added to Find Me Gluten Free. Our waiter, Bob, was super friendly and helpful and shared all the things that were naturally gluten free and what could be made gluten free. I had the Steak & Eggs. Delish!
Wanting…Instant Pot. The Instant Pot is all the rage among the Paleo community. When I learned you can use it to make yogurt I was on board. I’ve read reviews where people used one to cook an entire chicken in 30 minutes! It can also be used as a slow cooker, so I can replace one appliance with another with more functions.
Making… Shepherd’s Pie. One of my resolutions for this year is to try out 50 new recipes. I’ve made Shepherd’s Pie twice, using this recipe as a guide. The second time, I swapped out Paleo Worcestershire Sauce for the tomato paste. I think this will definitely become one of my go-to meals.
Listening to… The Minimalists Podcast. This is one of a few new podcasts on my radar. I’ve been in search of some kind of minimalism podcast for awhile. I knew that listening to something like this at least once a week would help inspire me and keep me on the right track. I never really got into Joshua & Ryan’s blog – I think they can be a tad pretentious, but then again, maybe I am too. There are a few times I find myself rolling my eyes while listening, but I still find it a pretty good listen.
