Watching….Frasier. I spent much of the weekend before Christmas finishing up my Christmas project, baking, and wrapping presents. To get in the holiday spirit, I began with my favorite Christmas episode of Frasier and then it turned into a bit of a Frasier marathon. I’d forgotten how much I liked that show. It was so smartly written and funny. I wish Netflix had all the old TV series I love. It’s fun to poke around through the seasons and create your own “best of” marathon.
Listening to…Tristan Prettyman. Amazon had her latest album marked down to $5 a couple of weeks ago. I recommend it. I love her music. I want to learn to play Simple As It Should Be on my uke. Tristan Prettyman radio on Pandora is my current go-to station.
Reading…Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter. I’m about halfway into this one. It’s a bit like a Dateline mystery. It’s the story of a small town outcast suspected of murdering a local girl. The story is slowly unfolding, I have a feeling I know which direction it’s going to take but I’m looking forward to finding out.
Eating…Caprese Bruschetta. I started off with this recipe for Caprese dip. It didn’t turn out so well. I may have kept it in the oven a bit too long. It wasn’t very easy to dip. I think that mozzarella just isn’t conducive to dipping. So for the leftovers, I decided to put a slice of mozzarella, some tomatoes, and basil on a slice of toasted Jimmy Johns “yesterday’s bread.” Much better!
Learning…to play the ukelele. I got a ukelele for Christmas! I’ve been trying to teach myself to play. So far I’ve haven’t learned very much but I’m gonna keep plugging away at it. YouTube videos have been really helpful.
