I’m sorry for my absence last week. I glutened/dairied myself last weekend and felt horrible all week. I had been feeling pretty good and decided I didn’t have to stick to my anti-inflammatory diet. HUGE MISTAKE. If you have any kind of health issues, especially problems with inflammation, I recommend taking a break from the standard American diet. It’s amazing what a difference diet can make in your health.
Watching…Homeland. I re-subscribed to Showtime over the weekend so that I could watch the current season. I hope I’ve timed it so that I can catch up and watch the finale in a month’s time. Most of my other shows are over for the year, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Listening to…Gregory Alan Isakov. Modern Mrs. Darcy mentioned his music the other day on her blog. I created a station on Pandora and it’s become my current favorite. I think it’s a little less mellow than my Bon Iver station but it’s still pretty mellow.
Eating…Beef & Broccoli stir-fry. After my bad food choices last week, I’ve been trying really hard to get back on the right track. Stir-frying some grass-fed beef with broccoli, onions, celery, sesame oil, and coconut aminos is one of my go-to meals. It feels good to be eating good again.
Wanting… Mitchell Coffee Table from West Elm. I have my eye on no less than five things at West Elm right now. I’m trying really hard not to turn my home into a West Elm showroom a la Friends and Pottery Barn. This coffee table matches the aesthetic I’m going for but isn’t too matchy-matchy with my other pieces.
Loving… succulents. For some reason I’m really into succulents lately. I think it’s partially interest in the lack of maintenance they require and how easy they are to propagate. I would love to do something like this someday. I ordered some clippings last week. I received them and have been working at getting them established.
