How was your weekend? Mine was a perfect combo of relaxation and productiveness.
Watching…Petra — Lost City of Stone. Petra has long been on my list of places that I want to visit. This NOVA special on Petra is fascinating. It explores how the city might have been built without modern tools; how the Nabateans were able to supply their city with water; and what might have put an end to the city.
Wanting…Pantone Color Guide. I spent a lot of my weekend working on design work. The more serious I become about it, the more I want a Pantone Color Guide. Pantone is the industry standard for matching color. Using the system helps insure that your printed project will turn out like you expect.
Eating… homemade Samoa bars. Last week I mentioned that I’d been eating my favorite Girl Scout Cookies. I’ve been moving towards focusing on eating whole foods and limiting my processed sugar, so I knew when I was finished with the box I wanted to try this recipe. I made some this weekend. While they aren’t very pretty, they sure are yummy and definitely help with my cravings for sweets.
Loving…Fintie SmartShell Case for Apple iPad Air. When I got my iPad last year, I wanted a case that kept with the low profile of the Air and wasn’t very expensive. After seeing this one on Amazon, I decided that with its great reviews and $12 price tag, I would give it a go. Almost a year later, it’s holding up well. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I just figured out how to make it work as a stand; now I love it even more!
Wishing for…warmer weather. I cannot express how ready I am for warmer weather… at least temperatures warm enough to return to daily dog walks. Everyone’s going stir crazy. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to live in Boston. If I can make it through Wednesday, things should improve dramatically.
What have you been up to lately?
