The weather this summer has been almost ideal for gardening. We’ve had enough rain to keep things growing; enough cool weather to help plants get established; yet enough heat to help the tomatoes thrive. I counted three sizable tomatoes on the vine this week. I expect to have a tomato harvest for the first time in several years. The peppers are also thriving. I have yet to find any cucumbers or zucchini but both plants have an abundance of blooms. The section of yard that I seeded with Bermuda earlier this summer is thriving. I have expanded further into the yard and am starting to see a tiny bit of growth there.

The new dahlia that I planted this summer is finally blooming. The blooms are much larger and more attractive than my other dahlia. I think I will remove the old one and relocate the new one to its location.
