I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately. December was kind of rough. I’ve had tooth/sinus problems and a sick dog. Both have left me feeling wiped out and uninspired. I’m seeing an oral surgeon today so hopefully I can get a game plan for me. Unfortunately, Daisy started having some health issues a few weeks ago and the animal hospital told me she likely has cancer and that she wouldn’t live more than a week. It’s been two weeks since that revelation. She seems to vacillate between not feeling well and running around the house barking like her usual crazy self. As I write this, she’s cuddled up next to me enjoying her new found couch privileges. She wasn’t interested in eating yesterday morning but ate last night so I’m hopeful that she’s feeling better.
If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you know I’m a big fan of the fresh start of a new year. Inspired by the Happier Podcast, I created an “18 for 2018” list of things I want to do this year. I’m hoping that once the current drama passes, I’ll be more interested in working on my list. For now, I’m just going to try to do this:
- Less TV, more reading
- Less social media, more (making) music
- Less bacon, more vegetables
- Less shopping, more creating
- Less complaining, more cuddles
- Less anxiety, more meditation
- Less sitting, more moving
Baby steps. I’m not the best at taking things one day at a time, but I’m working on it. What are your hopes for 2018?
