Finally there is some progress in the garden. We had a few days of normal temperatures and some rain; unfortunately we’re back into the hundreds. In fact, we broke the all time record yesterday for the most days at or above 100°, 51 days (and counting)! Hopefully the progress in the garden won’t stall.

First Harvest (other than herbs)
As you can tell, the plants have started to actually grow. Several of the cherry tomatoes are turning, I’m just not sure they’re going to get to the size of cherries. I’ve counted at least five tomatoes on the regular tomato plant. I think there’s one more, but I can’t find it. And I finally got to pick something. I’d been thinking the cucumbers were awfully skinny, but then I remembered I had planted a Japanese variety, so they are supposed to be a little skinnier than regular cucumbers. Since I’ve never grown this variety, I wasn’t sure if I should go ahead and pick it, but decided to go for it. Are you growing a garden? Has it been successful this summer?
