This year I have a goal to make one thing each week from scratch. Some of these things may be successful and some of them failures. But I’m sure to learn a bit along the way.
I have used vinegar for cleaning for quite awhile. It’s especially useful when cleaning up pet messes. I’ve found I no longer have to buy specialty products for that type of cleanup. The thing about vinegar is that it stinks. Once it’s dry, the smell goes away. But while you are using it, it’s not so pleasant. Recently on Pinterest, I discovered a link which led me to Little Brick Ranch and ultimately led me to Angela Coffman at Grocery Shrink. I subscribed to Angela’s newsletter and read up on her Orange Infused Vinegar.
I’ve been eating a lot of Cuties Clementines lately. As I peel them, I’ve been putting the peels in a covered jar full of vinegar. I’ve gradually added peels to the solution. After awhile, I mixed the strained vinegar with some water in my spray bottle. I can barely smell the orange and it hasn’t completely eliminated the vinegar smell. But it has definitely curbed that strong vinegar smell and makes cleaning more pleasant.
Do you use vinegar for cleaning? Does the smell bother you?

Another way to make citrus vinegar;
Citrus
vinegar
Put two quartered lemons or save leftover rinds from
three lemons after squeezing or any citrus(lemons, oranges, grapefruit, etc.)
then add 2 cups white vinegar in a blender until lemons/citrus are chopped
fine. Then strain out pulp. Viola!
Citrus vinegar! Cleans great,
kills germs and bacteria and no vinegar smell.
Citrus Vinegar Cleaner
1 cup Citrus Vinegar
1 cup Water
A good squirt dish soap
Put in a spray bottle and clean away!

Thanks! I never thought about adding some dish soap.
