I think everyone has finally received and opened their gifts so I can reveal my Christmas project. My Mom inherited my Grandmother and Great Aunt’s recipe boxes. After seeing a segment on The Nate Berkus show awhile back, I was inspired to scan the recipes so we could each have copies in their handwriting. I created a cover and had them printed and bound into a book.
While going through the recipes, I found a note that my Great Aunt had written my Grandmother telling her about these newfangled chocolate bars that she bought at the grocery store for 20 cents a pound. There was also a note that one of them had made about my Grandfather’s food preferences. After coming across this on Pinterest, I decided to have Spoonflower print them on fabric and then made tea towels using the fabric. I love how everything turned out and I think everyone loved their gift.
