Today’s prompt is “Memory.” I never knew my paternal grandmother; she died the year I was born. Her sister, my Great Aunt Winifred, became my grandmother. I used to go with my parents regularly to visit my grandparents. My mother and I would sit on their turquoise love seat while everyone visited. The love seat was striped with flower trim and turquoise velvet. I used to love to run my fingers up and down the velvet. That love seat lives in my bedroom now. It’s one of those pieces that I probably wouldn’t have chosen for my home if I saw it in a store, but when were clearing out my grandparents house, I knew that love seat was the one thing I wanted. It brings back memories of family, love, safety, and contentment.
