Did you see Downton Abbey last night? So good! I think my favorite line was, “Nothing succeeds like excess.” Maggie Smith cracks me up. I’m so happy that it’s back, but also really upset that Matthew won’t be around next year.
In addition to my birthday list, I’ve made a few resolutions for 2013. I’m a little late posting them, but nevertheless, here they are:
- Learn to play the ukelele – I got a ukelele for Christmas! I’ve been watching YouTube videos and reading up. One of my goals for the year is to become proficient at playing it.
- Run 500 Miles – I’ve been running about 10 miles/week, so this shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish. I hope to increase my mileage a bit once I’m convinced that my ankle is fully healed. I just hope we don’t have lots of 100 degree days this summer.
- Master my camera – I also got a new lens for my camera this Christmas. I’ve enjoyed playing with it and feel like it’s helped improve my photos. I’ve decided to take on a 365 project this year. There’s no particular focus, no pun intended, to my project – just a random photo every day.
- Read more – I’ve fallen way behind on my reading lately. I really want to step things up this year. I need to find a good page-turner to start off. Any suggestions?
- Change it up – It’s probably an understatement to say that I’m a creature of habit. I don’t really like to get out of my comfort zone. I resolve to do more of that this year. From little things like eating at new restaurants (I’m attempting to eat at 12 new ones by my birthday, only two more to go) to big things that I haven’t even thought up; I will initiate change in my life and not wait for it to come to me.
What are your plans for 2013?
